Ms Catrin Jones
University of Wales graduated with BA in Primary Education with Qualified teaching status in 2012
I have been teaching for the past 8 years, working in the United Kingdom, Russia and now in Brasilia. I have taught children across the Primary age range; from Nursery to year 6. I recently left a key stage one curriculum leadership teaching role, overseeing planning and assessment for lower primary and I am extremely excited to teach Nursery. I believe children should be provided with fun and engaging lessons which enhance understanding and challenge individual thinking. I am looking forward to teaching Nursery this year as I wish to provide children with a strong, positive and fun relationship with education and school from a young age. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, swimming and reading, I am extremely happy to be in Brasilia as this is opening so many opportunities to do all of these. I enjoy reading both children and adult’s literature and my favourite books are the Harry Potter adventures, The Jolly Postman books and Dear Zoo. In the past I have completed charity swims- raising money for cancer research and a local premature baby unit, I hope to do more of these in the future and will be working hard in Brasilia to swim as much as possible. My family are extremely important to me and I love animals, especially dogs! In Wales I have two dogs and the trickiest part about being in Brasilia is not walking them everyday.
