Visit to The National Museum 2024
On Wednesday 21st February 2024, 36 very excited Year 4s arrived at Museu Nacional da República. The weather was not on our side but, through the rain and clouds, we just about managed to see the beautiful and pioneering dome shape of the building designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. Upon entering the building we were amazed at how the shape of the building helped to carry our voices and create echoes that bounced off the walls. Our teachers unfortunately were not!
The purpose of Year 4’s visit to the museum was to view the exhibition entitled ‘System Update’ and relate this to our learning on the creation of Brasilia as the capital city of Brazil in 1960. Some of the artwork and technology designs were awe inspiring and definitely gave us something to reimagine upon returning to the classroom.
