Year 3 pupils have been learning about Rocks in Science and The Stone Age in History so, to further their learning, they visited the Geosciences Museum at University of Brasilia (UnB). At the museum, they found more about how the Earth began as well as the living things that were on the planet long before any human-like species. They got to see a variety of different fossils and handled different types of metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous rocks. The children learned about Brazilian archeology and how various Stone Age tools and even a skull had been found in Brazil which can tell us more about life thousands of years ago. The children even received their very own amethyst rock to take home!
Year 3 behaved impeccably and had some great questions. Thank you to the Geosciences Museum for welcoming us and for helping us learn even more!
