BSB Gives Back - Creche da Tia Tatá

Thanks to funds raised through previous The British School of Brasilia (BSB) events, the week before last we donated R$1,700 to Creche da Tia Tatá in Cidade Estrutural for a new classroom. Aunt Tatá is an inspirational and dedicated woman who singlehandedly started and runs this daycare to support single mothers by looking after their children - at no cost - so they can go out and work.

Since we started supporting her in 2017, Aunt Tatá has nearly doubled the number of Pre-school and Primary school children in her care. Our donation directly contributes to the construction of a new classroom (building site pictured above).

Previously BSB helped fund other construction works - specifically, the purchase and installation of two doors and a window, and we contributed with food and second-hand clothes. We will continue to support Creche da Tia Tatá!
