I have been teaching since 2009 in a Primary setting and have taught from Reception to Year 6. I spent 9 years teaching in London and 5 years teaching in Cairo. Throughout my teaching I have gained lots of experience teaching English to non-English speakers. Whilst completing my first degree, I spent a year in New York working for Columbia University as a Child Psychiatry intern and helped to promote good emotional wellbeing in young children. I thoroughly enjoy my role as a class teacher and love the creativeness Key Stage 1 children have to offer. I am looking forward to embracing the Brazilian culture and extending my experience at The British School of Brasilia. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends near and far and enjoying new experiences. In Brazil I am looking forward to doing some water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding and boat trips. Other than English I speak 3 other Languages (I speak English, Arabic, Punjabi, Hindi and basic French) and I am also looking forward to learning Portuguese and trying new foods and travelling to other parts of Brazil.
