Art Week at BSB

Written by Yasmin and Anna Luisa (Year 5).

During the week commencing the 6th of November, BSB held it’s very first Art Week. The school came to life with colour, creativity and craft. EYFS and Year 1 joined together to work with the terrific Toninho de Souza. Year 2 and 3 worked with the spectacular Jesse James and Year 4 and 5 collaborated with the wonderful Paulo Cavalcante.

These three artists inspired us to create a range of amazing Art. Nursery made brightly coloured parrots using handprints and vibrant feathers. Reception and Year 1 designed mouth-watering watering melons from bottle tops and paper mache. Year 2 and 3 went wild and wacky with super spray paints, producing a variety of pop art dogs and superheroes. Year 4 and 5 scattered the classroom with string, lentils and paint as they put together a lovely landscape of tiles. They also demonstrated great skill when crafting scorpions with a savage sting.

We celebrated our learning with a BSB Art gallery (the adults were lucky enough to have coffee and cake!). All the children and teachers had an incredible week filled with fun and laughter.
