EYFS Stage Art Week 2021
EYFS Art Week 2021.
Friday, April 30, 2021
The children and teachers in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) enjoyed a messy and creative Art Week in April 2021. This year all children in EYFS chose to learn about Jackson Pollock and re-create some of his famous paintings. Jackson Pollock was a famous painter who used colours to reflect his feelings. The children re-created his style by drip painting, spraying paint with water guns, splatting paint with toothbrushes and spraying paint with spray bottles. The children in Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception also worked together to create an impressive art gallery.
The children learnt about colour mixing and chose colours to represent their feelings. Pre-Nursery created pictures of shapes, Nursery created colourful rain pictures and Reception painted self portraits all in the style of Jackson Pollock. As a phase, the children worked together to create a collaborative canvas piece. The children were also given the opportunity to paint their teachers by spraying and splatting paint! To round off a fun and exciting week the children arrived at school dressed in their own art work and some as famous artists.
