EYFS Art Week 2019
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Art Week 2019.
Friday, October 11, 2019
The children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) enjoyed a creative and fun art week. This year we chose to focus our learning and artwork around the work of Andy Goldsworthy. Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist who uses natural materials to create sculptures. His work draws upon a minimalist aesthetic that emphasises the changes in nature and our immediate environment. He arranges stones, branches, twigs, leaves, and ice carefully and patiently, making use of various repeated motifs such as snaking lines, spirals, circles, and holes.
The children from Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception worked together as a phase to create two large whole scale phase pieces. They created a beautiful mud painting using their hands and feet and designed a weaving pathway made of leaves. In their classes, the children created some beautiful individual and class pieces using a variety of different natural materials.
On Friday the children loved creating their own Art Exhibition and sharing it with their families and friends. Thank you to all the families that were able to attend the children’s exhibition.
