I have been a teacher, and leader, in numerous schools throughout Europe, Australasia, Asia and, most recently, South America. Throughout my career I have learnt the importance of seeing the big picture and understanding the complexities of project management during the whole school growth. Despite this, I also have a strong belief in the importance of people at a school; all staff members, students and parents are integral to the quality of learning at a school. These are the people who are going to make the difference! I started my career as a teacher of Business Studies / PE in the UK, initially taking on middle leadership roles before embarking on an international teaching career. I spent some time in Australia teaching in a variety of state and private Secondary schools in order to begin building my knowledge of different schools throughout the world. In Bangkok, Thailand, I worked my way up from Head of Department to Head of Secondary School, successfully implementing the IB Diploma program at my school. Following this, my time in South America has been spent leading the Secondary School at the British College Brazil in Sao Paulo and then leading the whole school as the Headmaster at a bilingual international school in Lima, Peru. I am delighted at having moved back to Brazil due to the vibrancy and culture of the country. I have been here in Brasilia with my wife and two dogs since 2022 as Headmaster of The British School of Brasilia and I am really looking forward to leading it through this very important time of growth.
