Year 4 Teacher
BA Honors from University of Leeds PGCE from Brighton University Hearing Impaired Training from the Sensory Needs Service
I have been teaching for three years. I began my teaching career in Year 5 at a primary school in Brighton, England. Following my time at this school, I then moved to another school in the city to work as a Year 6 teacher. Alongside my class teacher responsibilities, I also led Art in both schools. In my current role, I have started an Eco Council. This has instilled in the children a sense of responsibility for their school community and the wider world, which I feel strongly about. I am passionate about primary education and am excited to be able to share my experience and enthusiasm with my new team in Brasilia. I promote equality within the classroom and believe that all children equally deserve effort and encouragement. I provide children with opportunities that allow them to develop an understanding of their abilities and that nurture them. Lastly, I think a great sense of humour is important as no two days are ever the same and the children always find new ways to surprise me with their energy, enthusiasm and their questions! I studied History of Art for my BA degree and have always been very passionate about the arts. I am very much looking forward to experiencing the architecture and art that Brasilia has to offer. Another passion of mine is food. I see cooking as a way to unwind after a busy day and when i’m not eating I will be talking endlessly about food and searching for a new recipe or restaurant to try! All of that eating needs to be balanced by some healthy exercise. I love to be active and like to work hard in the gym or to find some calm through yoga.
