Ms Emily Kelsall

Year 5 Teacher
BSc Sports and Exercise Science from Coventry University PGCE Primary Education from Swansea University
After graduating from Swansea University with a PGCE in Primary Education, I moved to Devon to begin my teaching career. During my career so far, I have taught a range of Key Stage 2 classes and have been subject leader in both Modern Foreign Language and Physical Education. Having enjoyed teaching in Devon for six years, I have decided to further my personal and professional development by committing myself to The British School of Brasilia. I believe my teaching principles are aligned with those of The British School of Brasilia in that they are child-centred. I design lessons to harness children’s inherent inquisitiveness and unearth talents and passions by focusing on real life relevance to encourage independent thinking, individuality in expression and creative freedom. In my spare time, I love to be active and participate in a range of sports. I enjoy going for long walks and discovering new places. Most of my free time is spent reading for pleasure, and my favourite way to unwind is by sitting in the glorious sunshine with a good book. Having always lived in the UK, I am looking forward to spending time outdoors in the sunshine exploring Brasilia and the surrounding areas.
