I am passionate about education and believe in its power for good and I am excited at having the opportunity to work at The British School of Brasilia. Before I became a primary school teacher, I worked as a teaching assistant and an English language teacher - both of which gave me valuable experiences and insights into teaching which I still refer to today. I trained as a primary school teacher through Teach First, which is an education charity in the UK tackling educational disadvantage. I have worked in London for the past three years, teaching in both Year 4 and Year 6. I enjoyed this immensely, as I love the way that everyday is different and full of rewarding challenges. For me, good teaching is about giving children the opportunity to ask, discuss and answer important questions and I work hard to foster a safe and warm environment in which children are given the opportunity to do this. I ask the children in my classes to think everyday about how they can be the best version of themselves. My main passion has always been music, in particular the guitar. I’m very proud that I completed a degree in a subject which is something I loved and I am keen to learn more about the musical styles that are native to Brazil. I’ve always been a sports fan, and in my spare time l love to go running and play football as much as possible. When I am feeling less energetic, I like to find somewhere quiet to read a good book to relax and unwind.
